Help!!!! DVD Recorder/Player no digital box?

I was considering buying the Toshiba – Multiformat DVD-R/-R DL/-RW/+R/+R DL/+RW Recorder for the TV in my daughter’s bedroom because she REALLY wants it for her birthday which is in 1 week!!!! However, her TV is not hooked up to a digital box. Can she still use the Toshiba – Multiformat DVD-R/-R DL/-RW/+R/+R DL/+RW Recorder to record TV shows to DVD on her TV even though there is no digital box????? Please help very urgent her birthday is coming up!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be careful alot of Dvd recorders don’t have a Coax connection on them. so if you plan on not using a digital box then make sure the model has a coax connection on it. Panasonic has made a good one in the past.
