Ibook G4 Gray Screen?!?
So over a year ago my ibook g4 hit against a wall….fairly hard. It functioned for about 3 months after that, but everyday the shell around the screen started to crack. Unfortunately i didnt get this repaired and it got to the point where it broke! About a week after that happened the screen went grey. Ever since then whenever i turn on the ibook, it only displays a grey screen. I can mess with the volume and i hear the noise so i figure that the video is the only problem. My question is, is it the logic board that is doing this, or the fact that the screen casing broke? And If so would i be able to get picture again by simply using a connector to plug the ibook g4 into a monitor???! I need a mac for video editing and my parents refuse to get me a new one ( for obvious reasons…lol) . Also the backlight seems to have faded away. Anyway any sort of help would be appreciated greatly. Thanks Alot!
You may want to take your iBook G4 back to the Apple Store or a local computer repair shop. At Apple, they can send it in for repair which can range from a loose cable to a cracked screen casing that is causing the problem. At a repair shop, they can run diagnostics on what is bad with the system and hopefully give you some products and instructions on how to repair your iBook G4
